The Agile Enterprise

I think this may require a new blog altogether. It is a fascinating subject, and the more transformations I participate in, the more I feel that business agility is moving towards what can only be called "functioning like the military". There are numerous good reads about the topic, almost invariably expensive publications, way above the average price of management literature.

Why is that the case? Maybe, there aren't enough veterans in business organizations. Or maybe those who go through one or more agile transformation initiatives realize that it is so different from what traditional management literature preaches, there is a premium on such knowledge and experience.

For veterans in business, an agile transformation is just applying more of the principles of war - selection and maintenance of the aim, maintenance of morale, offensive action, security, surprise, concentration of force, economy of effort, flexibility cooperation and sustainability - to a commercial enterprise.

More on this in another blog.
